The
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research (EJER) publishes
research from all fields of engineering and applied sciences.
The final editing and formatting of all accepted papers
is done by the editorial board to ensure the consistency
of the format and the quality of the product. Authors are
requested to observe the following:

Original
contributions submitted for publications will be refereed
and fall into one of the following categories:
| a. |
Full length papers (maximum of
10000 words or word equivalent.) |
| b.
|
Review articles. |
| c. |
Technical notes (maximum of 2000 words of
word equivalent). |
|
|
|
Papers presented at technical conferences are acceptable
for submission to the Journal provided that no more
than an extended abstract was published by the conference,
and the author will include a statement to that effect.
Multiple submissions are not acceptable. |

The manuscript should be submitted in three copies,
double-spaced on one side of A4 paper. Electronic
submission of the papers is encouraged. |

Articles should be submitted in English, although
some topics in Architecture may be accepted in Arabic
with an English abstract. |
|

SI Units should be used. Other units may be given
in parenthesis. |
|
6 - |
All mathematics and special symbols must be typewritten
and defined in the text when they first appear. If
a list of symbols is needed, it should be arranged
alphabetically under a Nomenclature section. |
|
7 - |
In the case of joint authors, correspondences and
proofs will be sent to the first named author, unless
otherwise indicated. |

It is preferable to prepare each contribution in
the following order:
|
a. |
Title of the paper (should not
exceed 70 characters, unless necessary). |
|
b. |
Author(s), full name, affiliation and address. |
|
c. |
Abstract of not more than 200 words in both
Arabic and English. (keywords should be included). |
|
d. |
Text illustrations, figures and/or photographs
should appear consecutively throughout the text. |
|
e. |
Conclusions. |
|
f. |
Acknowledgments, if any. |
|
g. |
Nomenclature, if any. |
|
h. |
References must be in the order
they are cited in the text. They should be cited
by bracketed numbers. Examples of the references
format are given below.

accepted for publication in EJER):

Revised copy of the manuscript.
Also, the revised copy should be provided on
a computer diskette or CD using Microsoft WORD.
Electronic submission of the final version of
accepted papers is also encouraged. |

A full set of revised versions of illustrations,
figures and photographs (in addition to those
included in the revised text). Illustrations
and figures should be drawn or plotted in black
ink or laser printed. Photographs should be
clear, sharp, black and white prints on glossy
paper. Digital color photos/figures will be
used for the papers posted on the website and
high resolution B&W versions will be used
in the printed copies. |
| c. |
A list of captions for all illustrations,
figures and/or photographs. |
| d. |
Revised copy of tables (in
addition to those included in the revised text).
Each table is typed on one side of A4 paper. |

Technical notes should be submitted in a similar
fashion. No abstract is needed. |
|
11 - |
Author(s) will receive 15 free reprints of the published
papers in addition to a copy of the issue of the EJER
in which the paper appears. There are no page charges.
Additional reprints can be provided at a cost of $200
per 100 copies. |
